Elderberry is one of the few herbs that is as tasty as it is potent so when I decided to mix a tea with it as a featured ingredient, I only wanted to enhance it's flavor and actions. I think I did just that. It's a delish drink either hot or cold but I'm loving it as a cold refresher over loads of ice and bit of maple syrup.
This blend is full of Vitamin C, antioxidants and all the goodness you'd expect from me.
Today science has studied Elderberries and confirmed that they are anti-bacterial, anti-viral, antioxidant, anti cancer and have a positive effect on most respiratory illnesses like the Flu, common colds and bronchitis. Elderberries are mildly stimulating and they warm the body slightly making it a great herb to help push a fever and not suppress it. *
Numerous studies are always being done on the effectiveness of Elderberries show that it can reduce the length of the flu for an average of 3-4 days, which is roughly the same as prescribed drugs without the harmful side effects.*
Ingredients - elderberry, lime, nettle leaf- all organic. Allow to steep at least 5 minutes but 10 is my ideal for this blend.
