The Achilles tendon is named after the fatal spot on a the Greek Warrior Achilles. It was the spot on the back of the heel where his mother Thetis held him as she dipped him in the River Styx or a river of Yarrow tea, depending on the myth. Both agree that the spot she held him was the only spot not protected and it left him vulnerable. He was shot with an arrow in this very spot during the Trojan War and it killed him. Having suffered an injury to both of my Achilles tendons, I can swear that it is a very delicate spot with a very distinct pain. This is a specific formulation for Achilles tendon pain or damage.
