Intro In Appalachian Herbalism -
October 17th @ 6:00 on Zoom
I was raised in a small Appalachian town. Many of my passions would be sparked there- including gardening, food, family and friends but I was never really taught much about the Appalachian healing ways. That would come later in school and my professional life, where I would dive in and discover much deeper connections and appreciation for my immediate family and ancestors.
Over the past few months, I've taught this class in a a couple of incarnations and it's been wonderful to share in the community that is Appalachia. People coming out to learn more and to share some of their familial or personal connection to our beautiful and very unique home. For far too long Appalachian ways have been regulated to "other" and in this class we talk about the good and the bad of being dismissed or misunderstood and how in all of it, we have the connection to plant life.
This will be my first attempt at learning an online class and I'm hesitant to do it but I'm going to lean in to the calling and have faith. We will have the class on a Tuesday, I will send a link to registered people the Sunday before, but I'll send a replay link to all on Wednesday that will be good for 1 month after the class.
Hope anyone who feels called to learn or share in this can join in.
